Siemens Future Makers
For the uninitiated Siemens are manufacturers of TVs and kitchen appliances when in fact they work across hundreds of industries with a workforce of over 370,000 in 200 countries. The Siemens Future Makers campaign is designed to work alongside the company's existing employer branding to give employees a greater sense of belonging and purpose as well as educate an external audience about the many aspects of Siemens' work, with the aim of driving recruitment.
As a freelance Visual Designer on the campaign I worked under the design director and helped produce creative treatments for interviews conducted with Siemens employees. This involved idea generation, commissioning artwork from external photographers and illustrators, sourcing and designing with stock or protagonist supplied photography or illustrating stories myself, depending on what was appropriate.
Any solution had to work in a variety of ways; besides the main editorial content published on the Future Makers Medium account, artwork had to be appropriate for the campaign's social channels, which would promote and drive traffic towards the article.
